I (Shane) first started wheeling when I bought my first Jeep Cherokee (XJ) in 1998. Of course, it was a 1987 (see below), so there was no worry about trail damage. Even back in '98, it was clear that 'rock crawling' wasn't in my blood. Not only could I not afford the mods, I was more interested in experiencing this beautiful state.
From there, I moved to my '92 XJ - after rebuilding the engine in the '87. I had that for about 3 years, sold it, and got the '01 in 2005. The '01 only lasted a year because of the FJ - Angie & I both knew we HAD to have it. We sold the '01 in Sept of 2006 and the '98 in Jan 07. Thanks to the newest addition, our 2006 4-Runner, we've offically converted. We used to be Jeep people..... now we're Toyota people.
